PRESS RELEASE                                                                                            April 2019  EFAMRO APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT The European Research Federation (EFAMRO) has appointed Bernd Wachter, chief executive of Psyma Group AG, as its new president.  He takes over from Andrew Cannon, executive director at Global Research Business Network (GRBN), after seven years in the role. Bernd Wachter has been chief executive of German market research agency, Psyma Group AG, for seven years.  He is the chairman of business association, ADM Arbeitskreis Deutscher Markt- und Sozialforschungsinstitute, and has been a member of the EFAMRO executive board since September 2018.  Bernd Wachter comments: “I am proud to contribute to EFAMRO´s role as an important stakeholder in the market research sector.   Coverage is key, so I will strive to broaden our list of members and prioritize fruitful co-operation between the professional and industry associations on a national as well as an international level.  Thank you to Debrah and Pepe for their ongoing commitment to our Executive Board – EFAMRO will continue to have great success.” Debrah Harding, managing director of MRS, will continue in her role as EFAMRO’s vice president and said of Andrew’s departure: “We would like to thank Andrew for his excellent leadership over the past seven years.  During his tenure he oversaw the expansion of EFAMRO’s membership, as well as the strengthening of our ties to ESOMAR including our joint public affairs representation to Europe on vital legislative changes including GDPR and e-privacy.  We look forward to working with him closely in the future as he continues in his role as executive director at GRBN.” Andrew Cannon comments: “I am proud to have served as EFAMRO President.  During my time as President, I have had the honour of working with many professional association leaders, as well as Jan Oostveen, EFAMRO’s Director General, who all share a passion for the future success of the European research industry.  I leave EFAMRO in the capable hands of Bernd as the new President and look forward to further broadening the co-operation between EFAMRO and GRBN.”   Notes to editors About efamro The European Federation of Associations of Market Research Organisations (efamro) is a European federation of market, social and opinion research agency trade associations –the voice of the European market research sector. efamro’s mission is to:
